Company Facilities Supervisor Job Description and Profile

The main job of a company facility supervisor is to take care about the entire facilities of a company or the area where he or she is assigned. The duty includes the planning, organizing, and direction of facility maintenance. He or she will have to do the work under general supervision. The job is basically to repair, security, and physical operation for assigned area or location. The Facilities Supervisor can also perform other tacks and duties with the responsibilities as required of him.

Duties and Specifications 

A company facilities administrator has to perform following duties and responsibilities:

  • The basic duty is to work for the craft workers in planning, scheduling and organizing the work of various types of craft workers
  • He or she will have to do supervise the work such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning or HVAC repair staff, common workers, electricians, carpenters, painters and plumbers.
  • He or she will have to do the common work such as directing the company facility installation, repairs, grounds improvement, construction remodeling, and maintenance and also have to do the up keeping projects.
  • It is also the duty that the work should be completed in time so will have to coordinate and works with other company departments in the completion of remodeling task and projects.
  • It is also the duty to oversee and review the work continuously and will also have to remodel the plans meant for energy efficiency as well as appropriate construction methods.
  • He or she will have to maintain and prepare the records of materials that were used and that will be going to be used.
  • It is also the duty to maintain the inventory and should have the knowledge about it
  • He or she will have to order, buy and replenish new materials when needed.
  • He or she will have to ensure about the company facilities are able to comply with federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and codes that pertain to building industry.

Skills and Specifications

The candidate desiring for the job should have the required skills and specifications which are as following:

  • The candidate should have the ability to supervise unit of craft workers
  • He or she will have the ability to reviewing, assigning and evaluating tasks and projects.
  • As he or she will have to go through the designs and graphics so must be able to read, understand and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • The candidate should have the ability to prepare sketches related to work.
  • He or she should be able to understand the comprehend company and agency regulations and procedures.
  • As it is the duty to prepare the records so should have the ability to maintain and keep records of building repairs and maintenance.
  • The candidate should have the required knowledge of English and grammar so must be able to know how to prepare simple correspondences with the use of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • He or she will have the quality to handle the tasks and will be able to organize tasks in order to meet deadlines perfectly.
  • It is also necessary that the candidate should have the quality to establish effective and harmonious work relationships with staff and employees as well as vendors.

Education and Qualifications

  • The candidate should have completed High School Education and higher level of education is highly desirable for the candidate.
  • The candidate must have some past working experience of about 2 years of supervisory in the area of construction, maintenance and repair work of buildings.
  • He or she needs to possess the valid Driver’s License (Class C).
