A Business Analyst is the one who has to serve as a conduit between the customer and the software development team. He or she supposed to decompose high level of information into details. This job has many variations depending on the company such as System Analyst and Requirement Engineer Analyst. Their basic work is to evaluate information gathered critically from various sources.

Duties and Responsibilities

There are a number of duties and responsibilities which have to be fulfilled by a business analyst as it is very vital and comprehensive job and they are as follows:

  • He or she has the prime duty to evaluate the needs of the customers to translate them into delivering the final product and in the system applications.
  • He or she has the responsibility to liaising between business units and support teams.
  • It will be the main responsibility to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources properly.
  • He or she has to set the standard measures to maintain them as well by using interviews, surveys and work flow analysis.
  • It will be needed to maintain the collaboration with the subject matter experts and developers to establish and analyzing tradeoffs between performance needs and usability.

There are the following skills and specifications required to do the job of a business analyst in a candidate:

  • It will be very necessary to have the exceptional analytical skills to identify the problems of the customers.
  • He or she needs to have extraordinary project management skills as will have to handle many projects in one time.
  • He or she should necessarily have the quality to handle the staff and a leader who can motivate people in the project.
  • The person should be very hard working he or she needs to have an urge for achievement and should be committed.
  • He or she will be needed to handle many customers in one time so should have the ability to deal with the users and the customers independently.
  • The candidate should be able to perform multitask thereby engaging in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • He or she needs to have excellent and exceptional skills and needs to be a strong communicator.

Education and Qualifications

  • The basic degree required to do the job is a degree in technical, management or business related field from an accredited institution.
