Early Childhood Educator Job Profile and Description

The early childhood educator is very challenging job as he or she needs to teach regular grade school and secondary kids.  Early Childhood Educators are trained to use teaching programs centered on learning-through-play theories fro the specialization. The duty may be also includes administering nurseries and daycares, child recreation centers and kindergarten schools, as well as tutor kids at home on a personal basis.

Early Childhood Educator Duties and Responsibilities

There are the following duties and responsibilities of an early childhood educator:

  • The early childhood educator has the prime responsibility to plan and develop programs and activities suitable of children.
  • He or she needs to tech the children and develop the activities at each level between 12 months and 5 years.
  • He or she has the responsibility to design and develop learning programs and implement them as well.
  • It will be the duty to meet the children’s physical, intellectual, social, cultural, creative and emotional needs.
  • It will be also needed to regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding their kid’s development.
  • He or she needs to inform the parents about the needs and learning progress of the kids.
  • He or she has to provide school materials containing re-school programs and schedule properly.
  • The duty includes maintaining the proper records individually of the children with the update.
  • He or she has to handle the records and note the program’s positive and negative results.
  • It will be the duty to develop the listening, comprehension and motor skills to the students.
  •  It will be also required to use the approved subjects in storytelling, role playing, games, music and creative art activities.
  • It will be also the duty to supervise both indoor and outdoor play times including community trips to museums, zoos and parks.

Early Childhood Educator Skills and Specifications

  • The person must have genuine interest in educating young children with the whole affection.
  • He or she must have a high level of teaching skill and patience to do the job.
  • He or she must have excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with the people.
  • The person should necessarily have the people management skills to do the job.

Early Childhood Educator Education and Qualification

  • The basic degree required for the job is a  bachelor’s degree or higher education is passing the state’s certification or accreditation as an educator
  • The person should have passed an accreditation for a Specialist Education in any of the six areas of disability, with Early Childhood Education (ECSE) as relevant to this position.
  • It will be an added advantage for the person having 2-3 years of past working experience in a similar management capacity.
