Cabin Crew Job description
Cabin crew staff consists of both males & females. A cabin crew member is highly trained in customer service and is always ready to deal with security and emergency situations onboard.
As a member of ‘Cabin Crew’, a person plays an important role making the airline passengers feel comfortable for safe and pleasant flight. A cabin crew member assists both pilot & the passengers have a safe air-journey. As a cabin crew member, you may have some free time to rest and discover the destination your flights lands on, depending on your airline flight schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities –
Duties before a flight:
Greeting passengers and directing them to the plane
Giving a brief about the flight and schedules
Checking the supplies
Checking the emergency & general equipments onboard and getting them fixed, if faulty
Ensuring that the passengers’ hand luggage is stored securely
Duties during a flight:
Making sure that the passengers are relaxed
Answering passengers’ queries and serving them foods & drinks
Giving first aid to passengers, if required
Assisting passengers follow the safety procedures for a safe air-journey
Duties at the end of a flight:
Assisting passengers get out of the plane with their hand luggage
Filling & maintaining the logs for food and drink orders by passengers & duty-free sales.
Duty hours – The duty hours depend on your flight time & schedules.
Skills and Specifications –
- Be diplomatic and confident, particularly in an emergency
- Have good communication skills
- Be always alert and calm under pressure and emergencies
- Be friendly and have a smile on face
- Be self motivated
- Be very patient and open-minded
Educational Qualification –
- High school diploma,
- A certificate course in ‘Cabin Crew’/Hospitality Management is an added advantage
