Pilot Job Description and profile

The job profile of a ‘Pilot’ involves flying an aircraft carrying passengers and cargo, on both domestic and international routes. It involves flying for business, commercial and leisure purposes.

A pilot has key responsibility on his shoulders to make sure that they fly an aircraft safely as one single mistake by them can put hundreds of lives onboard at great risk. In an aircraft, there are generally two to three pilots; it depends on the type of aircraft and distance of air journey.

Duties and Responsibilities -

  • Performing aircraft flying duties
  • Checking  weather conditions as if they are suitable for flying or not
  • Making contacts with the air traffic controllers to make sure that the flight plan accuracy is in accordance with the expected flight circumstances
  • Updating the log book on a daily basis – for status of the journey
  • Making a report at the end of the flight – stating any issues or incidents experienced throughout the journey
  • Operating the aircraft safely and economically in order to save operating costs
  • Ensuring the good condition of aircraft and it’s equipments before and after the take off to have a safe journey

Skills and Specifications -

    • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus
    • Highly smart and alert
    • Great problem-solving skills, and analytical ability to make decisions

Educational Qualifications -

Professional pilot degree
