An executive search recruiter works for companies which want to fill a senior management position and the recruiter helps these firms to find the most suitable people available for the high-level positions. Also known as head hunters, an executive search recruiter is given a description of the job, duties and skills required to fill the executive vacancy. He spends time with the client to discuss the job and also offers advice on the company’s employment needs. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management or human resources is helpful. Experience in sales and marketing also helps.

An executive search recruiter can expect to get around $80k per year on an average. But they are usually paid according to the number of positions they fill and the salaries also depend on which company is their client. The recruiting firm receives a part of the salary and benefits package offered to the selected candidate and a part of that is forwarded to the executive search recruiter.
