Legal Mediator Job Description and Profile

The job profile of a Legal Mediator requires a person to resolve legal disputes; however he doesn’t represent any of the two parties. A legal mediator acts unbiased, and performs neutral negotiators persons involved in a legal dispute. They help out opposing parties to settle disputes mutually with no involvement of a judge.

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Facilitating negotiations and resolutions through guidance to disputing parties
  • Working with both disputing parties and finding suitable ways to reach a mutual solution.
  • Arranging discussions and providing advice and guidance in negotiations.
  • Organizing court reports, communications, social case histories, and other legal documents.
  • Executing court rules and legislative actions related to a legal case.
  • Keeping abreast of updates, trends, and legislations.
  • Advising on minimal legal responsibility and legal exposure for the business.

Skills and Specifications –

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Should have impartiality, vision, patience, and sincerity.
  • Be able to recognize legal problems on both disputing sides.
  • Should have good people skills

Education and Qualifications –

  • A degree in conflict management and dispute resolution.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mediation or related field from reputed university.
