District Attorney Job Profile and Description

The job profile of a ‘District Attorney’ requires a person to represent a city, state or nation in criminal cases. They are appointed to fight in criminal cases through by assessing the available evidences and, making intelligent decisions in a prosecution.

 

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Assessing copy of submitted reports, policies reports and victim requests
  • Assessing all follow-ups attached to a case – notes and reports calculate the strength of case.
  • Organizing hearing trials that are based on legal issues, physical evidences, and through identification of and questioning of criminals.
  • Drafting of memos, legal notes, diversion agreements, arrest warrants, and supporting affidavits.
  • Representing the city, state and country for presenting evidences, arguments in cases and organizing available witness
  • Perform legal search for case preparation and various functions assigned by the attorney.
  • Getting required dates for case hearings
  • Preparing clients for cross questioning.

Skills and Specifications –

  • Strong knowledge of criminal codes and related law suits
  • Be aware of associated job functions.
  • Be able to examine available evidences, diversion agreements etc. and suggest suitable resolution.
  • Should have good communication skills
  • Should have sharp eye for details.

Education and Qualification –

The education and qualification requirements for a District attorney job are – a law degree with considerable law practice experience.
