Manufacturing Operations Manager Job Profile and Description

Manufacturing Operations Manager is involved in taking care of all the production procedures. There are supervisors working under the manufacturing operations manager. The manager handles production processes, raw materials, logistics, and planning. They work to maintain manufacturing within the set guidelines for production improvement, labor cost, waste amounts, and control of on-hold product.

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Planning, directing, and organizing the production in compliance with organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Examining products delivery, inventory and providing solutions.
  • Establishing and managing production conditions for satisfying customer and quality specifications.
  • Providing suggestions for standardization, cost reduction, and finding out ERP system protocols.
  • Directing the area managers for execution of production plans and strategies
  • Developing and implementing the cost-effective alternatives to production process.
  • Ensuring employee safety by providing safe working conditions and efficient working environment.
  • Managing the various works like stocks, purchasing, distribution, etc.
  • Organizing staff schedules and handling recruitment & training
  • Examining manufacturing materials and, determining best possible control levels.
  • Optimizing the efficiency of production lines and ensuring the efficient employment utilization.

Skills and Specifications –

  • Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Must be able to motivate, influence, and train people.
  • Should have good communication & people management skills

Education and Qualifications –

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, logistics, or related field.
  • Masters in business or logistics is an advantage.
