Manufacturing Supervisors Job Profile and Description

The ‘Manufacturing Supervisor’ job involves watching the manufacturing activities. It requires taking care of the production related activities according to the engineering specifications, budgets, quality standards, manufacturing goals and staff safety. They are involved in planning, organizing, and directing the manufacturing activities to achieve superior productivity complying with goals of customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Guiding & leading the manufacturing staff to achieve the productivity, quality and cost control targets.
  • Providing technical expertise for resolving processing issues,
  • Analyzing and resolving various problems at work
  • Interpreting company policies and safety guidelines to workers.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and presenting monthly reports to managers
  • Arranging work schedules for the staff
  • Overseeing the production schedule, conducting staff performance evaluations, motivating & training staff and, setting business expectations and goals.
  • Identifying areas need to be improved and, providing suggestions for changes in working conditions and equipments for increasing the overall efficiency of the production operations.
  • Maintaining good liaison with different departments for efficient production procedures

Skills and Specifications –

  • Should have good coordination skills and leadership abilities
  • Should have good communication skills
  • Should be able to guide, train, and motivate staff
  • Good mechanical skills.

Education and Qualifications –

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
  • Training certificate in six-sigma and manufacturing is an added advantage.
