Operations Management Job Profile and Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for handling the entire operations of a particular department in an organization. They are in-charge of implementation of productive business measures, new guideline or strategies. They work in coordination with the other departments in order to improve the working environment and business procedures of a business. They work for strengthening client relationships and ensuring successful continuation of business operations. They research and find out new and effective ways to increase the efficiency of the business operations. They also have to take care of the recruitment assessment in a department, and they provide training and other team development exercises. They ensure satisfaction of clients and increase the revenues.

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Being responsible for handling the entire operations in a department
  • Working efficiently for achieving the company’s goals and objectives
  • Ensuring a safe, healthy and productive work environment
  • Planning and preparing new and effective strategies and procedures for improving staff performance to achieve superior productivity
  • Conducting meetings and assessing the operation
  • Planning budget for the department
  • May be required to act as a spokesperson for the company.
  • Solving issues related to staff welfare and workplace problems
  • Meeting senior management and having discussions about the department

Skills and Specifications –

  • Should possess strong leadership qualities and proven management skills
  • Should have very good interpersonal skills and excellent coordination skills
  • Should have strong public speaking skills and be able to give presentations
  • Should work for constant improvement in the department

Education and Qualifications –

It is required to have a Bachelor’s degree with an MBA in Operations Management.
