Auto Detailer Job Profile and Description

An Auto Detailer’s job is basically to provide all imperative service that is required for the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles. A professional of this job requires possessing technical knowhow, skill and expertise in the field of automobiles. Auto detailers usually work in auto showrooms, car service centers and car lots and are accountable for servicing the vehicles in their respective work places.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, waxing, polishing and refurbishing old and new vehicles.
  • Using necessary equipments for cleaning and servicing of auto parts.
  • Maintaining the standard and quality of service of the organization.
  • Understanding and delivering to the specific requirements of the buyers.
  • Inspecting the vehicles thoroughly and recommending buyers for changing of auto parts, painting and other necessary services.
  • Maintaining the proper functioning of all service tools and equipment.
  • Reporting any damage, dent or spoil to the supervising manager of the establishment.
  • Coordinating all working with coworkers and team members.

Skills and Specifications

  • Must possess excellent technical knowledge and skill about auto components.
  • Must have the ability to effectively use and operate service machinery and tools.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to understand the requirement of the buyer.
  • Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school degree, diploma or GED equivalent with technical knowledge in the field of automobile vehicles.
  • Bachelor’s or an associate’s degree in automobile engineering or any other related discipline from a recognized college.
  • Experience of about 3 to 4 years in auto detailing activities is preferred and gives an advantage.
