Visual Merchandising Manager Job Profile and Description

Luring consumers and increasing the footfall of the store by attractively displaying products and merchandise, is the key role of a Visual Merchandiser. This profile requires someone  to possess a great deal of creativity and innovative talent. Visual merchandisers are mostly required to work at retail outlets and stores and lead a team of assistants and staff for smoothly carrying out all activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizing designs and ideas displaying the products of the store innovatively and attractively.
  • Delegating functions and tasks to subordinates.
  • Frequently changing displays in accordance with the season, market trends and festivities.
  • Ensuring the proper lighting of all signboards of the store.
  • Strategizing the display and branding of store promotions and events for increasing sales of the store.
  • Coordinating with technicians and staff for the proper and safe implementation of display designs.
  • Keeping a track of the purchasing trend of the consumers and strategizing presentations accordingly.
  • Taking consumer feedback from the sales and consumer service teams.

Skills and Specifications

  • Good written as well as verbal communication skills.
  • Should have a creative bent of mind for conceptualizing designs.
  • Good leadership and motivational skills so as to effectively lead a team of subordinates.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in sales, marketing or other related area of study from an accredited college.
  • Post Graduate degree in the field of marketing, visual merchandising, retailing or any other related field of study with 2 – 3 years experience in visual merchandising.
