Power Plant Technician Job Profile and Description

A Power Plant Professional is mainly liable for the harmless handling of the equipments and units in a facility, and is also accountable for carrying out routine maintenance activities. Individuals in this position are referred to as power plant operators. They are required to have a mixture of technical and management competence to guarantee that all functions of the machineries are seamlessly conducted.

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Conducting standard routine maintenance checks on all the equipments and machines in a facility.
  • Diagnosing technical faults and faults and also making sure immediate patches of the same.
  • Examining all devices and equipments like drills, loaders etc. to determine that they are functioning adequately.
  • Satisfying all commercial policies and also the Occupational Security and Health Administration guidelines (OSHA) while implementing various jobs.
  • Planning routine maintenance activities in a way that the output as well as development of the plant is not hindered or interfered with.
  • Maintaining a file of all repair as well as overhauling carried out on the plant equipment.
  • Appropriately utilizing and managing all repair devices and equipments.

 

Skills and Specifications –

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Potential to adequately oversee time and complete all assigned tasks in time
  • Good understanding of all industry specific safety norms and procedures.

Education and Qualifications –

  • A High school diploma or a GED equivalent qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or any other related field of study
  • Work experience of 2 to 3 years experience as a power plant technician.
