The duty of a grant administrator (issuer) is to ensure that the grants should be well spent in according to the objectives for which they have been granted. The job of a grant administrator is to process the grant application, getting it approved and keep track of their disbursements.  A number of Banks, federal agencies, trusts and philanthropic foundations and individuals typically provide financial grants to fund worthy causes and projects which are conducted by individuals, scientists, researchers and the academe, to mention some. They often oversee grants in the range of 5-10 million dollars.

Grant Administrator Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of a grant administrator which she or he has to fulfill:

  • He or she will have to review and oversee the client submissions on fund disbursements and financial reports time to time properly.

  • The candidate must have the excellent knowledge of computers and should be well computer literate
  • The candidate should have the very strong command up on the Spreadsheets as it is the work of an administrator.

Grant Administrator Education and Qualifications

  • The candidate should also have done the post graduate certified study in grant management from the national Grants Management Association (NGMA), taking one of three tracks – federal, pass through and recipient tracks.
