A Senior Business Analyst supposed to understand the business issues as well as data challenges faced by client’s organization.  The main work is to conduct effective progress evaluation timely and to suggest areas of improvement in internal processes along with providing possible solutions. The duty also includes developing system design specification for the clients according to their needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

There are a number of duties and responsibilities which have to be fulfilled by a candidate desiring to do the job as a senior business analyst and they are as following:

  • He or she has to work for the completion of many projects so has to participate in the planning and analysis related to conversion of data and integration of various projects.
  • He or she has the responsibility to modify the needs the business requirements related to system applications.
  • He or she has to collaborate with the technical team as well so has to test the solution, recording and tracking technical issues.
  • He or she has to identify the risk involved in issues and work for the improvement and ensure that it will sort out in timely manner.
  • He or she has to handle many projects in one time so has to provide day-by-day experts of project management for various projects.
  • It will be needed to provide recommendations and advice on emerging trends of IT.
  • He or she has also the duty to provide help to the juniors as well such as consultation and advice to BAs on complex and more difficult assignments.
  • He or she has to implement the needs of the customer into application and operational requirements.
  • He or she has to maintain the coordination with the client personnel and development team.

The skills and specifications required to do the job of a senior business analyst in a candidate are as follows:

  • The candidate needs to have excellent observation skills with the strong analytical ability.
  • The candidate should be able to handle many projects in one time and it will require effective project management skills.
  • He or she needs to have the excellent leadership skills to be an active leader and should have ability to motivate people in the project.
  • The person needs to be very creative and will be able to bring innovative changes while dealing with a project.
  • He or she should be able to establish and maintain the strong business relationship with clients.

Education and Qualifications

  • The candidate needs to have a degree in business administration, information systems, finance or computer science from an accredited institution.
