The Non- Executive Directors of the company holds the part- time positions in the organizations. The job entails supporting the company’s executive officer. He or she has to direct the company’s main board. The non executive director can only vote in the board meetings and that to under special circumstances in spite of their all pervasive position in the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

The non executive director has to fulfill a very vital and comprehensive job and there are a wide range of duties and responsibilities which are expected to be fulfilled by him or her as follows:

  • The non executive director has to attend both the meetings of the shareholders and board of directors.
  • It will be the duty to help the company to work in a coordinated form by facilitating communication amongst the different employees.
  • He or she needs to coordinate the performance reviews of the employees by organizing the board work’s load.
  • It will be the responsibility to create systematic board schedules in a precise and systematic manner of the organization.
  • He or she will be treated as the executive head of the company so needs to oversee that the meetings falls under his or her purview.
  • He or she has the duty to ensure that the employees are offering the best services by evaluating and assessing the work quality of the employees..

Skills and Specifications

The skills and specifications required in a person to do the job of a non executive director are as follows:

  • The person should have a very strong sense of responsibility.
  • He or she should be able to maintain the coordination with the different departments.
  • He or she should be a great communicator and should have the skills both verbally and written.
  • He or she should be able to carry off efficient monitoring of the staff and the management.
  • He or she should have the ability to organize things perfectly and properly.

Education and Qualifications

  • The person needs to have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in management and administration from an accredited institution.
  • It will be an added advantage for the person having at least ten years of past working experience in related field.
