The PR persons are basically specialized in the field. They work in the fashion world and they are the one who needs to publicize the products and build and maintain a positive public image. It will be needed to work with the designers, corporate houses and retail stores.

Duties and Responsibilities

There a number of duties and responsibilities of a public relation which have to be fulfilled and some of them are as follows:

  • The PR person has the main duty to promote and keep the company’s brand name attractive in the public eye.

  • The PR person has the duty to sort out any problem or any crisis related to the outside sources by interacting with media and answer questions.
  • He or she has to establish and maintain a very good network and professional relationships with media personnel.
  • He or she has the required knowledge about the products and aware of the fashion styles and the demographics as well.

Skills and Specifications

The required skills and specifications are as follows:

  • The person needs to be an excellent communicator and should have the skills both verbal and written.
  • He or she should be able to present the information for the public in a clear and attractive way
  • He or she needs to have the required basic knowledge of journalism and the related skills.
  • The person should have the excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationship with the clients.
  • The other skills required for the job are the exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • He or she should be able to work with the deadlines and under pressure as well.

Education and Qualifications

  • The basic degree required for the job is a degree or diploma in mass communication with specialization in journalism, public relations and advertising.
  • He or she should have the degree in the fashion designing and merchandising.
