The internal auditor has the responsibility to make sure that the company doesn’t get astray or afoul of the legal statutes in the rush. He or she needs to put a proper look in the financial management. The Internal Auditor has the responsibility to scrutinize the company’s books as well as financial management processes. The auditor has to make sure that the procedures are in compliance with ethical standards, legal statutes and corporate policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

There are the following duties and responsibilities of an internal auditor which have to be fulfilled:

  • The internal auditor has the main duty to conduct the regular audits of financial controls and management systems.
  • He or she needs to make sure about the corporate policy and legal compliance in the systems.
  • He or she has to regularly review the fiscal and investment management policies and procedures.
  • It will be the duty to recommend the corrective action.
  • The auditor also has to conduct the automated inventory management systems properly.
  • He or she has to make sure the correct matching of physical inventory with system database content.
  • He or she has to provide proper recommendation for corrective action.
  • The auditor also has to conduct the automated financial systems to ensure correct data represents corporate financial health.
  • The duty also includes scheduling regular meetings with management to communicate audit findings and explore suitable solutions.
  • He or she needs to identify any data error, unaccountable transactions, faulty or inefficient processes.

Skills and Specifications

The required skills and specifications are as follows:

  • The person must be very detail oriented, conscientious and systematic with a high level of accuracy to do the job.
  • He or she should have the ability to work for the long hours to set deadlines.
  • The person should have the strong moral and ethical foundation to disclose potentially illegal.
  • He or she should have the knowledge of the criminal and unethical business practices or data
  • The person needs to have the team working skills with the interpersonal skills to establish and maintain the effective working relationships.

Education and Qualifications

  • The basic degree required to do the job is a college degree in a business management and accounting field with a strong basis along with computer literacy for spreadsheets and word processing.
  • The person needs to have the past 2-3 year of working experience in another company is an edge.
  • The person must have the required computer knowledge and literacy with spreadsheets and word processing.
  • He or she should be very familiar with automated accounting systems or ERP such as SAP/financials.
