Maintenance Mechanic Job Profile and Description
A Maintenance Mechanic is accountable for the entire repair and service works of electrical units and other power equipments in a facility. Automobile service centres, residential complexes, commercial facilities and other such sectors, recruit individuals of this genre. A Maintenance Mechanic works under the supervision of a manager and is required to comply with the standard operating procedures of an establishment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Regular inspection of all electrical and power units of a facility.
- Detecting malfunctions and defects in electrical systems and vehicle engines and repairing the same.
- Ensuring the compliance of all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while conducting work functions.
- Maintaining a record of service cycles and other maintenance activities conducted.
- Efficiently managing time and completing all tasks assigned by the supervisory authority.
- Reporting damages, defects and other issues pertaining to electrical units to the supervising manager.
- Placing orders for spare and replacement parts and completing all necessary documentation for the same.
- Appropriately using and handling all electrical repair and testing tools and equipments.
Skills and Specifications
- Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
- Sound understanding of using all electrical testing and repair equipments.
Education and Qualifications
- High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.
- Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or any other discipline with 2 – 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic.
