The job of a management information analyst is to gather information from various departments of the organization and analyze in order to put forth the best execution strategies and management plans. An analyst is consulted on all major decisions of the organization. Analysis reports presented by the analyst forms the basis for a lot of important management decisions. Management information analysts may either be required to analyze the data of a particular project or the management data of the organization as a whole.

Management information analyst duties and responsibilities

  • Gather information from various sources and analyze the authenticity of the data as well as the source
  • Meet with the managers of various departments and study the working procedures
  • Present analysis reports to superiors on a monthly or bi-yearly basis as per the regulations of the organization

Management information analyst education, training and qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in information business management and administration is required. Certain jobs may require bachelor’s degree computer science or information technology. Master’s degree in management is highly recommended, irrespective of the subject of bachelor’s degree. The applicant has to have five to eight years of experience in managing information, implementation of relevant software or administration.

The four year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is the basic requirement. Special courses in for a career Management Analysis are being offered by several accredited institutions. Whatever may be the bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in management and business administration is highly acknowledged for employment. Online education is also available.
