An Assembly Technician works with the team that assembles components or a whole product at a manufacturing unit. A technician needs to perform specific tasks related to product assemblage.
Duties and Responsibilities –
- Understanding the assembly drawings in details and, bills of materials
- Must be familiar with various parts, tools, equipments, and different techniques
- Completing various related paperwork and tasks within the set deadlines
- Following the follow orders and assembly data sheets etc.
- Operating automated equipment on an assembly line
- Carrying out machine alignments, repairs and inspection etc.
- Taking care of the clearance requirements for shifting moving parts to make modify speed, timing or productivity, so ensuring superiority, stability, and safety at work
- Handling different kinds of raw materials and suggesting ways to improve the product or the manufacturing processes
Skills and Specifications –
- Must be a team player, and have good coordination abilities
- Must be detail-oriented and well organized to avoid accidents
- Must have agility in hands for working with small components
- Must be physically fit and healthy for lifting heavy items
- Must be open for working long hours, standing
- Should be able to understand the technical documentation, charts, drawings, charts, instructions etc
Education and Qualifications –
The educational requirements and qualifications for this position is a high school degree. Many companies offer apprenticeship programs with on the job-training. A bachelor’s degree is required for senior positions.
