Line worker Job Profile and Description


The job of a ‘Line Worker’ involves performing some repetitive activities like attaching pre-manufactured parts and components, operating machines, etc-etc. The Assembly line workers perform many different activities. They work with tools like screwdrivers, pliers, soldering irons etc. to hold and position the parts at the time of assemblage.

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Drilling holes for screw insertion, and fixing screws
  • Using tools like pliers, screwdrivers, and soldering ions etc.
  • Planning the assembly process carefully
  • Performing recurring tasks like assembling parts together
  • Determining issues that hamper work, and informing the supervisor for correction
  • Informing the supervisor about defective parts, tools, materials, improper staff performance, and other negative conditions that don’t allow superior productivity
  • Participating in staff meetings for raising issues regarding assembly line activities

Skills and Specifications –

  • Should be physically fit and healthy
  • Should be ready to work long hours
  • Should be able to operate different assembly tools.
  • Should have good dexterity in hands
  • Should be careful at work to avoid any accidents

Education and Qualifications –

  • A high school diploma is sufficient for this position.
