A channel marketing manager’s Job detail includes acquiring a larger market share for the company and to ensure that customer relationship remains at satisfactory level and channel partners are always in the loop about the marketing policies of the company. He has to closely monitor all marketing programs run by the corporate entity.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Channel Marketing Manager

With one eye on customer relationship, he must also be in close touch with the channel partners.

He should have a detailed and deep knowledge of the market to be targeted.

Nurture the product brand

Synchronizing marketing strategies towards brand building

He must closely track the merchandising and packaging both before and after the product launch and aim for constant improvement.

Channel marketing budgets and costs have to be devised and developed and strategize for market forecasting.

Plans should be put in place annually for product promotion, boosting market share and marketing strategies with execution capabilities.

Study the market reports and feedbacks and to assign targets for each segment

To be in the know about macro market and channel trends constantly and to incorporate them suitably for channel development programs

Channel Marketing Manager’s Skills and specifications –

Communications and presentation skills at par with the best

Should be a team player

Excellent interpersonal skills are highly desired.

Right from lighting and refrigeration, building automation controls to HVAC, depth of domain knowledge is a great advantage

An engineering degree is a plus point

Persuasion and convincing ability towards the various stakeholders

Field and hands on sales experience and skills necessary to manage a multiple of channel partners for a mutually beneficial business relationship.

Should be able to successfully organize conferences, meetings and seminars with channel partners

At least 5 years experience in a similar industry as a channel sales or marketing manager

A graduate degree in either management or engineering

Post graduate degree in management with specialization preferred from a recognized University or Institute.

The salary of a channel manager is linked to the academic qualification, experience and the value that the person can bring to the company in terms of skill sets and goal delivery.

Expected salary can range from $2000 to $7000 per month.
