Payroll and Timekeeping Clerk Duties and Responsibilities
- Review time sheets, work index charts, salary calculations, and other details to recognize and correct paycheck differences.
- Process requirements for new workers and enter personnel details in to paycheck system.
- Verify attendance, pay changes and post details onto specific program
- Documentation of personnel details, such as exemptions, resignations, and transactions, to maintain and renew paycheck information.
- Process and issue personnel wages and claims of income and deductions
- Keep track of absent time – vacation, personal, and sick leave for staff
- Compile personnel time, production and paycheck data from time sheets and other information.
- Distribute and gather timecards each pay period.
- Issue and record improvements to pay related to past errors or retroactive increases
Payroll and Timekeeping Clerk Skills and Specifications
- Has great business abilities to type and manage timecards
- Has great computer knowledge
- Has a good control of the English language, both spoken and written
- Has good interpersonal abilities
Payroll and Timekeeping Clerk Education and Qualifications
A High School diploma or GED is basic for this position
