Even if you’re fit and muscled, traveling with a full complement of luggage for a week-long stay outside of your domicile will require the help of baggage porters at your port of embarkation to take out the luggage from your car or taxi and back when you arrive. Then in the hotels, you have the bellhops taking and handling your luggage from your taxi all the way to your room and back at the end of your stay, all the time making sure nothing bad happens to them.

- Transfer baggage, trunks, and packages to and from rooms, landing areas, vehicle luggage compartments, by hand or using baggage carts.
- Consciously remain well-groomed with the correct hotel uniform and ID badge all the time during work shift
- Courteously great incoming hotel patrons and escort them to their rooms.
- Mark baggage by completing and attaching claim checks.
- Provide guests with travel directions and other information of interest to hotel quests.
- Help physically challenged guests or those with special needs.
- Deliver any message and room service orders,
- Run reasonable errands for guests.
- Explain the room features such as locks, internet facilities, cable TV, and ventilation systems

- Should always be courteous, customer-oriented with a cheerful disposition
- Should be physically fit to lift luggage from car trunks to the carts and to rooms and back.

- While no formal education is required a high school diploma is often preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar bellhop function gives an edge.
